Here is all of the top Palo Alto Networks news the first week of December.
The best relationships usually begin unexpectedly.
As 2014 comes to a close, Palo Alto Networks subject matter experts check in on what they see as major topics and trends for 2015:
We have officially kicked off Ignite 2015 with the opening of online registration! Read on for all the reasons you need to be there this year.
Staying on the topic of Ignite 2015, we’ve also opened the Call for Papers, so if you have a good war story about an enterprise security deployment, don’t forget to submit for a chance at a speaking slot.
In late October, Unit 42 began examination of a VBA-Initiated Infostealer campaign. Find out what additional information they have since gathered on related malware and associated actors.
Microsoft recently released a patch for a critical vulnerability in Microsoft Secure Channel (aka Schannel), MS14-066. A description of how to trigger the MS14-066 ECDSA Heap Buffer Overflow vulnerability was posted by BeyondTrust. From that Palo Alto Networks researchers were able to write a demonstration program by patching the OpenSSL 1.0.1 source code to trigger this specific vulnerability and show how this could be used for exploitation.
Recently Palo Alto Networks researcher Claud Xiao discovered WireLurker, a new family of Apple OS X and iOS malware. Much has happened since Claud's discovery, so we're pleased to present a new webinar on December 10 at 11 am PT covering WireLurker and the potential impact of this malware family on enterprise organizations.
