Welcome to October and welcome to National Cyber Security Awareness Month!
It’s been ten years since the U.S. Department of Homeland Security started this effort to engage public and private sector stakeholders and advance the dialogue on what the agency calls a “safe, secure and resilient cyber environment.”
Stronger, better-secured networks and a better-informed public are also top priorities at Palo Alto Networks. We’re committed to driving these discussions with private and public sector interests at every level, but one thing I would like to highlight is our recent involvement with the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE), which is part of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
Back in August, we became the newest of the NCCoE’s National Cybersecurity Excellence Partners (NCEP), meaning that we pledge to accelerate the adoption of secure solutions by U.S. businesses. Alongside 14 other NCEPs partners, we provide applications, firewalls and platforms to the NCCoE’s collaborative facility in Rockville, Md. You can learn more about the NCCoE’s priorities through the Center’s FAQ page.
Watch this space for more on our National Cyber Security Awareness Month activities and let us know what you’re doing to help drive the discussion.
